Financial power house.. "Hamara Bharat"?

"Be that as it may, the issue for a country like India can neither rejoice nor be dismayed at these turn of events. If India has to occupy global centrestage, it must play the global game at the global level. And for that to happen Indians must take responsibility in designing a suitable yet sustainable global financial architecture.

A civilisation that has survived over five millennia surely must have much to offer to the world. But if the intellectuals in India feel orphaned with the fall of the US, India can remain a camp follower of the West, at best.

Crucially, if it fails to recognise this historic opportunity, it will once again be condemned to play second fiddle to the next emerging global superpower.

Will the real India stand up and do the needful? At least now Indians need to realise we may or may not require the world, but surely the world requires us".

These lines are from an article in rediff. As these lines suggest, India is still dependent on external economies. India's progress is still dependent on offshore projects from the western world. If India has to stand tall amidst financial crises like the recent melt down of the US investment banking giants, it should start concentrating on the more sustainable manufacturing and agricultural sectors. Services can just only compliment these two sectors and can never bring the real stability in the markets as it is dependent on the former two. It is high time for our society and government to take necessary steps to boost the ailing sectors.

This is the right time for India to be independent from the external economies and build its own.

But the big question is, are we ready to take the position as global financial giant? If so, how are we going to do that and when? The answer lies in the hands of young India!!! The present think tank and policy makers of India are rotten and stagnant in their thinking. I wish "hamara Bharat" lives up to the hype and expectations of the world.
